Locals call it the “Fish House” but this house in Berkeley, California was actually modeled after the tardigrade, a microscopic animal that lives in water or damp moss, and also called the world’s most indestructible living creature. Architect Eugene Tsui, who oversaw the construction of the $250,000 home for his parents, told the Los Angeles Times that the structure is fireproof, earthquake-proof, flood-proof, and termite-proof. The foundation and first floor were made of building blocks made from recycled Styrofoam and cement, reinforced with steel, according to the Los Angeles Times.
